Welcome to Freedom Rings substance abuse treatment center! When you arrive one of our nurses will help you get settled and complete an initial assessment before introducing you to our medical director. This initial assessment will assist us in determining your need for our drug detox program and to identify any medical or psychiatric problems that may exist. Regardless of whether you require an opiate detox, alcohol detox, prescription drug detox or dilaudid detox, every patient receives an individualized detox protocol designed to minimize any withdrawal symptoms they may experience.
After reviewing the information you have provided our nursing staff, the physician will take their own medical and substance abuse history and provide you with a comprehensive physical examination. If you are found to be in need of alcohol detox or drug detox services you will be admitted to our detox program and be provided with the appropriate medication to manage withdrawal. If there are medical issues to be addressed, this can be accomplished while you are in the drug detox program. If it is determined you may require psychiatric stabilization that can also be accomplished in the alcohol detox phase of the substance abuse treatment program. Many of the patients we treat at Freedom Rings are HIV positive, suffer from Hep C and are in need of continuing medical care. One goal of the initial assessment is to determine whether we can meet a person’s medical needs. Freedom Rings is a medically driven drug addiction treatment center with an experienced team of physicians, nurses and support techs. If for some reason a person’s medical needs are greater than we can provide, rest assured we will assist you in locating a drug rehab program that can help. We have addiction treatment resources throughout the State of Florida and other parts of the United States.
All of the information mentioned above will be provided to your primary therapist in the drug treatment program to develop an addiction treatment plan that meets your individual needs. As you progress through the drug treatment program and your emotional, physical and spiritual state improves, clinical and medical conditions will change. Patient progress is reviewed on an ongoing basis by staff to adjust your addiction treatment plan accordingly. Different than most drug rehabs, we include you in the development of your drug addiction treatment plan. Your involvement provides the therapist with insight into your understanding of your illness and what issues lie at the heart of your drug addiction. For more information on our drug rehab program, call our addiction helpline day or night, 1-800-231-1820.
If it is determined during the initial clinical assessment a psychiatric disorder or mental health problem is present, then you will be seen and evaluated by our board certified psychiatrist before, during medical detox and directly after completing our inpatient detoxification program. Dual diagnosis treatment is an important element of our substance abuse treatment program. In many cases, patients are completely unaware a mental health problem even exists. It is not uncommon for one of our therapists to refer a patient to our psychiatrist for an evaluation to determine whether dual diagnosis treatment is required. It is our belief and experience that a patient who completes a drug rehab program or alcohol rehabilitation program without having the co-existing disorders treated con-currently is destined to end in relapse. For this reason, the staff at Freedom Rings receives extensive training and education on “cutting edge” dual diagnosis treatment services.
The idea of having a “psychiatric problem” can be quite disconcerting to many people, but for those of us in the addiction treatment arena, we find that over 50 percent of the people admitted to substance abuse treatment programs suffer from a co-existing psychiatric disorder. Some require treatment for depression, while others need treatment for bipolar disorder or anxiety treatment, but in either case, these mental health problems must be treated concurrently with their drug addiction or alcohol addiction. The dual diagnosis treatment program at Lakeview’s Freedom Rings takes a gentle and gradual approach to treating dual diagnosis as it can be a challenging time in early recovery. For additional information on our dual diagnosis treatment center, alcohol rehab or our drug rehab center, please call our toll free addiction helpline any time day or night 1-800-231-1820.
